As with everything else in our lives right now, COVID has had a large impact on industry trade-shows, conferences, and expos. Typically, there are only a few that I attend each year unless I’m asked to speak or host a class. Imaging USA one of the few photography conferences that I haven’t had the opportunity of attending in the past. Ok, maybe there are slightly more than a few that I haven’t been to, but last month I was asked by Vision Art to speak at the 2021 conference and I was more than happy to accept.
Vision Art has become more like a business partner to Twisted Oaks Studio over the years. Their albums and print boxes are a significant part of our studio’s brand with nearly 90% of our clients receiving at least one album. Having worked with several of the other album companies prior to giving Vision Art a shot I can tell you that it was a no-brainer for us to make the switch several years ago. Not only are we able to design completely custom albums with more options than we would ever need, but the level of trust that we have is something that we were never able to reach with the others.
Basically, what I’m getting at is this. When they reached out and asked if I would be interested in speaking at this year’s Imaging USA conference I didn’t hesitate to accept. They just put all the presentations together for everyone to watch again, or for the first time, and the line-up of speakers is pretty impressive. I gave a couple of short previews from one of my presentations below. My first was about how our studio “shoots for the album” and the 2nd is about my approach to storytelling what I feel that the secret is to becoming a successful storyteller.
